Posing, Waiting, and Cropping

I wanted her right hand extended, holding the fabric. Her bent left elbow continues the line and adds movement and forward momentum enhanced by the placement of her forward left leg. There is nothing static about this image; there is a force moving through it.

I waited until the clouds were in this position; I wanted some of the sky to open directly over her head. I loved how it stayed open straight up and out of the picture frame, making the image even more powerful. I cropped her feet at the ankles so she appears grounded and it is up to the imagination of the viewer as to what surface she was standing on. Perhaps it was a cloud?
